Double Barrel Game Farm & Hatchery began as a side project for Dustin Chrisman during his freshman year of high school in 2000. Growing up on the family farm and ranch, Dustin purchased his first pheasants to generate supplemental income that would help fund his cattle operation and other agricultural ventures. What started as a small project quickly grew into something much larger.

Dustin’s dedication and entrepreneurial spirit earned him recognition as the Star Farmer in Production through the Nebraska FFA Association. He continued expanding the business while attending the University of Nebraska, where he earned a degree in Diversified Agriculture with a minor in Animal Science. After graduation, Dustin remained committed to improving and growing the operation, continually refining his management practices and bird production program.

As the business surpassed 100,000 birds annually, Dustin took the next step by developing an in-house egg collection and hatchery program. Today, Double Barrel Game Farm & Hatchery produces around 300,000 game birds each year and hatches approximately 1.8 million chicks annually, with continued growth on the horizon.

In addition to the game bird operation, Dustin manages a heifer development and artificial insemination program, supplying bred heifers to ranches throughout the region. He also owns and operates a tree-moving business.

Dustin and his wife, Paige, are proud parents of three children—Arianna, Ryah, and Tripp—who enjoy helping with the birds, cattle, and day-to-day activities around the farm whenever they have the opportunity.
