About
Dustin Chrisman grew up on the family farm and cattle operation near McCool Junction. In high school, he was named the Star Farmer in Production at the state FFA convention for his efforts with his cattle operation and Double Barrel Barrel Game Farm that he started at the age of 15. Dustin graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Diversified Agriculture and a minor in Animal Science. Along with the game bird operations, Dustin also manages and runs 400 head of angus and red angus cows, as well a 500-head heifer development and AI program in which he supplies bred heifers to ranches each year. In addition, he has a tree moving business. Dustin and Paige Chrisman have three children - Arianna, Ryah, and Tripp - who all love to help dad with the birds and cattle any chance they can.
At Double Barrel Game Farm & Hatchery we believe in creating the most wild-like environment for our growing birds. Pens are sized all the way up to 85 feet wide by 700 feet long, with the top net being suspended at 14 feet. Thick weed cover is managed in all the pens to replicate wild hunting grounds. We employ an ambitious staff of 3 full-time and 10 part-time workers.
We realize that hunting and brooding season are a very hectic time, and we believe in serving and delivering birds to you to make your life as easy and convenient as possible. We now have locations in South Dakota and Kansas to better serve our customer base.
